WHO IS A WOMAN OF WORTH?
The question a woman asks, especially in the context of Proverbs 31!!! All through a Christian woman’s life, and even more so in weddings, the subject of the Proverbs 31 woman crops up. Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies. ……..Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.(Proverbs 31:10, 30-31 WEB; RSV)
Who is a woman of worth? What makes one a woman of worth? Well according to the above scripture, it is not her beauty and charm although the media would like to convince us otherwise. It is not even her great talent and capacity for hard work.
All of the above are good things even great things to have but the Bible is very clear that it is a woman whoFEARS the LORD who is a woman of worth. After that, then all the other qualities of charm, beauty, talent and hard work can be recognised but without the basic foundation of the fear of the LORD, they are empty and deceitful.
As GICC women, our desire is to grow in the fear of the LORD and to demonstrate HIS love to the world by initiating and participating in practicle outreach and mercy ministires. We seek to achieve these goals by:
coming together in fellowship and prayer in our weekly prayer meetings and monthly womens meeting
participating in church activities and reaching out to members and young people through our hospitality department
reaching out to the community by helping out with those less fortunate than ourselves
